since most posts are questions and they followup posts in that thread resolved the topic, there is now the option to have the author mark the post as RESOLVED, by selecting the choice in the drop down select list at the bottom of the page [left side] following the posts in the thread.

I love this feature, but then I would, of course.
I don't get why there are 3 options when the top two are identical though. Also, normally the text [resolved] goes at the end of the title, but I'm not really bothered about which side of the title it goes. Anyways, once this has been ironed out, then I'll edit the forum guidelines to explain how this is done with the new system.

/me pats mike on head, good boy.

The topic creator [he/she that created the first post of the thread] has only one option. to mark it as resolved.
- RESOLVED -

The site admins/moderators have an option of marking it either:
- RESOLVED -
or
- RESOLVED [by mike] -

This enables moderators to have a choice.

Since you said you had 3 options there must be a setting i've got mixed up somewhere.
I'll have a look.

Well, I had made the thread, then tried to resolve it (I then deleted the thread). Maybe what happened was that I had the 1st one as I made the thread, the other 2 as I was a moderator. Maybe you should change an IF to an ELSE IF Wink

Edit, that's not the case, even on this thread I have 3 options, and I obviously didn't start this thread.

i've now modified it to have 1 option for the topic creator and a 2nd option for the moderators.

the moderators can choose either option.

Works like a charm, updated the guidelines.
